Gospel Light Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, Baptist church located in Minneapolis. At Gospel Light Baptist Church, we believe that God's Word provides the only solid foundation on which to build our lives. We believe that God has a purpose for every life. That is why we make no apology for teaching and preaching the Bible.

Families here at Gospel Light have discovered the joy of being a part of a friendly, Bible-believing church that works hard to meet the needs of every age group.

How it all began...

Pastor Paul Taylor felt led of the Lord to begin an inner city church in Minneapolis. Therefore, in November of 1992, Pastor Taylor and his family rented a Community Center in the Phillips neighborhood. They met in that building for services until 1995, when they were able to purchase their own building on Chicago and Franklin in downtown Minneapolis. Through the purchase of the building it has helped to unify the congregation and establish an enduring presence in the community. With the continued growth at Gospel Light there was a need for a new church building. The church members began to pray for well over a year that God would supply us with a new builiding. He answered that prayer in October of 2007 with a new building that we were able to move into debt free! We are thankful that the Lord has met our needs and continues to do so. We are now in North East Minneapolis.

Gospel Light Baptist Church has purchased two additional residential houses. These houses were purchased because of the need to help those in the community. Each house is used to help people who are looking for affordable, temporary housing.

The church has been supported from its beginning, by other churches of like faith in the Twin Cities area.
